Subject: Re: SHARING "SAKER PRIDE" WEBSITE!

Thanks, Egbe. The Saker Pride web site is nice! Your colleagues will be most grateful to you and thank GOD for equipping you to assist them in this respect. What was your graduation year? I did not see you in the 1st badge!
I wish SAKER a bright and prosperous future. I`ll exploit possibilities of donation.
Hope the children and their father are fine?
Remain blessed;
Aunty Theo McMoli

You're probably wondering why I would post a TRIBUTE, modest though it may be, to someone who is NOT an alumnus of Saker Baptist College, on this website. Well, in addition to the fact that this LADY who was Cameroon's first female OPTHAMOLOGIST inspired and mentored so many of the Medical Doctors that SBC has wound up producing, the email below which she sent to me just 2 short weeks ago, SPEAKS ELOQUENTLY FOR ITSELF!!
Dear, Dear AUNTY THEO!
The ignoble individual who took your life in cold blood prevented you from fulfilling the promise to donate like you intended to but we know that we, SAKERETTES, stand to benefit a whole lot more from what you are now able to offer us from the comfort and abundance of your "NEW & UPGRADED ADDRESS" in "THE CITY THAT IS BUILT FOUR SQUARE": YOUR PRAYERS & GOOD WISHES!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATED SERVICE TO GOD & COUNTRY!

One of the many features provided to this Website's Manager by “INTUIT”, (the website’s hosts), that I find particularly interesting and intriguing, is the “VIEW STATS” feature, and the most informative component of this amazing tool is the feed that shows the State, Country or Town that any given visitor to the site is logging in from. The number of visitors to the website since May 1 2012, when it was launched, stands at 14,077 – from 90 different countries, so it goes without saying, that I couldn’t possibly keep track of everyone who logs on, even if I wanted to. However, from time to time, I embark upon “a virtual stroll” into the statistics page. I did so on Friday, December 14 2012, and couldn’t help noticing that the TANZANIAN Flag was featured quite a few times. I decided to take a closer look and noticed that it was a GOOGLE TANZANIA SEARCH for “Funeral pictures for Kati Kerenge” that first led this resident-in-Tanzania Guest to the website, and the accompanying data was noted as follows:

Country: Tanzania
City, State: Bagamoyo, Pwani
Internet Provider: Bell - Bb1 Dar-Es-Salaam Metro

The “Kati Kerenge” name struck a chord instantly, because I vividly remembered the heartbreaking task that had been mine just 2 weeks prior, of adding her name to the Class of 1991 section of the IN MEMORIAM page, on the strength of the email below which was sent to me on November 25 2012 by Ms Maureen Enanga Molua Jensen:

Hey Moderator! I saw a page of all the late Sakerettes and Class of 91(entering class of 86) was lacking. We've lost some classmates late last year and early this year. Prudence Ewolo, and Kati Kerenge (Tanzanian). May their souls rest in peace. Thank you for the wonderful job you're doing. Remain Blessed. Maureen Enanga Molua Jensen.

Well, I was instantly overpowered by one of them now very familiar “GOOGLE SEARCH CRAVINGS”. The more I searched … the more I found, and though my SADNESS & SENSE OF LOSS increased with every hit I made, - every story, every picture, every newspaper clipping and every video, SO DID MY SENSE OF PRIDE in this young, vibrant, extremely accomplished Ex-Sakerette who left this world so abruptly – at the age of 38, just 6 months ago, on July 1 2012. It struck me, the more I gleaned and garnered, that she was just the kind of "SISTAH" I would have loved to feature in the TRAIL BLAZER page. Once that thought crossed my mind, it didn’t take me longer than a Mabeta New Layout minute, to decide to compile and post A POST-HUMOUS SALUTE to the TRAIL BLAZING EX-SAKERETTE. Not having had the privilege of knowing this PHENOMENAL YOUNG WOMAN who attained heights many of us couldn’t even in 3 lifetimes, and not knowing her family either, this “SALUTE” has been put together SOLELY based on what I was able to cull and compile from the tons of varied material about Ms KATI EVA KERENGE that is contained in various sites that are publicly available on the net. I figured that, if I sought and found answers to the questions about her that had sprouted in my mind, those answers would “automatically” paint a fair enough picture of who she was.
Well, I found PLENTY, and I am convinced that you will be as impressed as I am!
May her soul rest in peace!

SO, HOW DID SHE WIND UP IN S.B.C?

My “put 2 and 2 together” answer to this question came from this Condolence Message dated November 3 2012, which was addressed to PROFESSOR APOLLONIA KERENGE that I stumbled upon:

Ms. Apollonia Kerenge,
I am xxxxxx, your former student at the Pan African Institute for Development, Buea, Cameroon (1988-89). You were my Tutorial Advisor.
I was trying to get your contact information and learnt of the death of your daughter, Kati.
Accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences.
I am presently based in Washington D.C.

SO, WHO WAS SHE?

I found an eye and brain full to answer this question, - in SWAHILI, ARABIC & ENGLISH, s’il vous plait! Even the very first obituary announcement I found announcing her demise had a lot packed into it:

A RENOWNED public relations guru in Tanzania, Kati Kerenge, is no more. She died on Sunday night at the Trauma Centre in Masaki, Dar es Salaam, where she was rushed after a sudden heart attack.
The late Kati has served for many years as a public relations and marketing consultant in various firms including General Tyre East Africa Limited where she was Marketing Manager and Tanga Cement as Corporate Communications Manager. At the time of her death, she was Head of Corporate Affairs with the Barclays Bank in Dar es Salaam.

There was also this article, complete with pictures, from just 2 months before her passing, talking about her induction into Dar-Es-Salaam’s Rotary Club:
ROTARY CLUB OF DAR-ES-SALAAM

Kati Kerenge's Induction

Nikki Aggarwal

On the 16th of May 2012, we inducted Kati Kerenge to our club, who plays a huge part in bringing our average age of the club down and plays a significant role in gender balances! Kati brought her mother and best friend to witness her embarking into Rotary!
She also wound up on Tanzania’s ITV, in April of 2011, and a tiny snippet wound up being posted on … YOU TUBE

However, I doubt that anything I found tells her story better, or more convincingly than this article posted by an Economic & Financial Weekly called “BUSINESS TIMES”, given that it consists of an INTERVIEW Kati herself granted them! Revealing & Touching!
Kati Kerenge: making a success of everything I touch...
Written by Admin
Friday, 31 December 2010 06:06

Kati Kerenge is Barclys Bank Tanzania head of corporate affairs. Our reporter VERONICA MAPUNDA, had a chat with her recently about her life and career. Read On!

Veronica: Who was the greatest influence in your early career?

Kati: I grew up in a household where intellect was valued and I was encouraged to be the best in whatever I chose to do. So many people influenced my early career but my mother stands out from the crowd.
My late father was a veterinary doctor whose early death meant that my mother had to play a dual parental role raising three young children on her own. When you grow up in a single-parented home, you grow up quickly and learn that, to the make it in this world, you have to make a success of your life. My mother who’s an economist by profession and a professor lives by example. In so many ways, I have never had to look too far for inspiration.

Veronica: At the personal level what are your career objectives?

Kati: To make a success of everything I touch. I hate to fail and I am the hardest person on myself. I also have maintained flexibility in my career choices. I never grew up wanting to be in business – I just happened to be into it and that’s fine. As a young adult, I was fascinated by psychology and I may have made a good psychologist had I pursued that field. Somewhere along the way, I decided to study commerce at the university level and have been in business since then. I still maintain an open mind on doing other things but for now, I am happy.

Veronica: What are your key responsibility areas at Barclays?

Kati: I head Corporate Affairs hence I am responsible for the enhancement and protection of my bank’s reputation. My portfolio includes communications, community investments, media relations and aspects of corporate marketing. I have a very exciting job and at a great establishment so I am thankful every day.
Veronica: Have you always been in banking?

Kati: No. I joined Barclays Bank this year when I was looking to widening my experience working in a different industry. Before then, I was in manufacturing industry.
Veronica: Tell me more about your educational background.

Kati: I come from a predominantly business background and my education is strong in this area. I have also kept myself abreast in other areas of interest like leadership. I enjoy learning hence I am a constant work in progress.
Veronica: What does the future hold for you?

Kati: I will not speculate on the future, but so far I am enjoying myself.
Veronica: What advice do you have for other women?

Kate: Self-belief and self-promotion are important. Also create stability around you. This stability may come in the form of faith, family, friends, love, etc. We all need something to hang on to that brings meaning to our lives. Lastly, whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability.
THE OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT …
The family of Professor Apollonia Kerenge and the late Dr. Esrom Jeremiah Kerenge, and friends regret to inform you of the loss of our beloved daughter Kati Eva Kerenge on 1st July 2012. It is with great sorrow that we ask you to join us during this difficult time in bidding her farewell.
There will be wake keeping on Friday 6th July 2012 at her home, house no: 4D1 at Mutual Housing Complex Gezaulole Kigamboni.
We shall convene at St. Columbus Presbyterian Church along Ocean Road on Saturday 7th July 2012 at for the Funeral service at 1pm and thereafter she will be laid to rest at Kinondoni cemetery at 4pm.
The Death has been reported of
GRACE NWAFOR
STUDENT # 1914, GRADUATING CLASS OF 1988,
On Monday, March 18 2013, in Seattle, Washington.
May her Soul Rest in PEACE!
I was rudely awakened this morning, by the terrible news that Ms MARGARET NDASI (better known as MAGGIE NDASI), PRESIDENT OF ExSSA-LIMBE, and DEARLY BELOVED MEMBER OF THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1978 had left this world! The word "SHOCK" does not even begin to describe the state I was in as I stared at the email below from Sister Ebob:

From: Tanyi Ebob
Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2012 5:37 AM
To: Egbe Monjimbo; 'Didi Ndando'

The morning has started badly, my dear sisters; I'm almost afraid to repeat it for fear it may not be true: Maggie Ndasi, the one who did our April 16th catering, the one who runs the restaurant at ALCEF Riviera is no more.... God help us!

Well, since she insinuated that the news might not be true, I decided to text two of Sister Maggie's Classmates whom I knew and trusted would be able to confirm or, HOPEFULLY, refute the story as a baseless rumor. Unfortunately, both Sisters Roseline Nzegge Ngaaje and Susie Mondoa confirmed the sad news, still reeling from the shock of it themselves!
Sis Maggie is not somebody I knew extremely well, but the little I do know about her makes it hard for me to describe how BIG a loss her sudden departure is, NOT JUST for Sakerettes, but for the entire Anglophone Community back home; for the Residents of Limbe, in particular, and the SouthWest Province as a whole!
SOFT SPOKEN, WARM, GENEROUS, COURTEOUS, HARDWORKING & INDUSTRIOUS are just a few adjectives that come to mind as I think about the CATERER & CHEF EXTRORDINAIRE whose punctuality, work ethic and thoroughness you could invariably rely completely on! Give her a task - no matter how big or small, and she would go FAR ABOVE and MILES BEYOND what was expected of her, or what she had been paid/contracted to do! That is just a little peek into the kind of person she was - career wise. What about, as a person?
Remember those "impossible" hats class of '78 wore to SPRUCE UP their Golden Jubilee Outfits? You bet I had asked how it all came about and was told that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE HATS CAME STRAIGHT OUT OF SISTER MAGGIE'S CLOSET!! She graciously offered them to her classmates so they could make their "SHOW-SHOW" STATEMENT, and it worked, Big Time!!! That's just the kind of person she was; Making other people happy made her happy!
Something else that comes to mind right away because, UNCANNILY, in fact, EERILY, just last night before I went to bed, the last images I looked at, in anticipation of starting this "IN MEMORIAM" page that has now been forced "prematurely" into existence, are pictures and footage of this same Class of '78, REMEMBERING & HONORING their departed Classmates as they sat down to a Sister Maggie-Catered & Hosted Dinner in Limbe just this past January, on FOUNDERS' DAY/GOLDEN JUBILEE EVE! They fondly whispered the names of:
- Late BETTY ATABONG FONDERSON
- Late TERRY ABANDA BIENG
- Late MARY-STELLA NANA and
- Late MARY ENJEMA DOHYA!
HOW ON EARTH COULD THEY HAVE SUSPECTED, MUCH LESS KNOWN, THAT SISTER MAGGIE WHO WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE WITH THEM, STILL CLAD IN HER YELLOW MAGGI CUBE APRON, WOULD BE GONE AS WELL, JUST SIX SHORT MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD???!!!
She herself shared how, even though she left Saker after Form 3 for Mbengwi, she never ever forgot any of her classmates, or the send-off party they organized for her! I smiled through her entire 3 minute speech, and for some reason I can't quite explain, "switched", when she was done talking, to the YOUTUBE video I had posted on the "ExSSA-WORLD" page of this same website, which has her talking away as she was interviewed about ExSSA-LIMBE's 2010 Community Outreach Program. I watched it through, and went "me" to sleep at almost 1 a.m. You can therefore imagine why, when I saw the email announcing her death just hours afterwards, I was beyond "FLABBERWHELMED"!!
My heart goes out to her 3 children, particularly her Sakerette, Medical Doctor CARAT ,who has a 7 month old baby to nurse and who must hurt at the fact that she did not have the opportunity to tend to her ailing mother; her class of '78 Classmates, and the LIMBE CHAPTER of ExSSA-Cameroon which has lost its DYNAMIC President, so shortly after losing another one of its vibrant members, Annette Mbongo, who passed away just after the Golden Jubilee.
MAY GOD GRANT HER PRECIOUS SOUL ETERNAL REST & COMFORT US ALL AS WE MOURN HER DEPARTURE - REMEMBERING WITH CALM ASSURANCE NONETHELESS, THAT WE WILL SEE HER AGAIN IN THE MORNING!

Even if Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Molière and Chinua Achebe all rose from the dead and together penned a tribute to NELSON MANDELA, I believe they would not do THE MAN, THE LEADER, THE ICON, justice; and if they couldn't, I most definitely can't.
However, there is simply NO WAY I can drift off to sleep and then pick up my bags and head off to work, in a business-as-usual sort of way, because this day - and the days ahead, as we come to terms with and mourn the passing of a man who was NOT flawless - as he himself was always quick to admit, but certainly one who's given the word "EXTRAORDINARY" an entirely new meaning, is by no means "USUAL"! The PICTURES, MANDELA QUOTES, the Video Clips and Photo Albums I will post over the 10 Day Period of Mourning in his honor,  are therefore my own acutely inadequate way of acknowledging Mr. MANDELA'S Demise and celebrating the LARGER-THAN-LIFE person that he was and always will be in the hearts of so many, for rarely have the Virtues of FORGIVENESS, TOLERANCE, WISDOM, GRACE, AFFABILITY, HUMILITY and QUIET, REGAL DIGNITY come together and resided in one single individual.
A few are venerated AFTER their passing, after time and hindsight have painted a much more flattering, alluring or appealing image of them. Some are "idolized" - like MLK and JFK, for what they achieved in the relatively SHORT time they lived. But I am hard pressed to name ANYONE who has lived his life out in the PUBLIC EYE with the amount of SCRUTINY that comes with the territory, and still managed NOT to err significantly - up until the ripe old age of 95!!! SIMPLY AMAZING!
REST IN PEACE, MADIBA and THANK YOU; The WORLD in general and our CONTINENT in particular, have been all the better for your presence!!
Most Respectfully - and quite tearfully too,
Egbe Mbiwan Monjimbo

SUNSET: 28 FEBRUARY 2013
Dear Sister Pat,
Writing this Christmas Day 2013 letter to you - someone whose existence I only learned of on Monday and whose demise I was informed of the very next day (Tuesday) - is not something I could possibly have anticipated, but given the events that have transpired, I don't quite see how I could do otherwise! This is not a "Palava Letter" so I trust that it will make it past whichever Angel does the equivalent of Ma Binder's job up there in Heaven, to you!
Well, I'll start from the beginning:
The reason I called Sister Nene (Comfort Oke) Amogu on Monday, was simply to wish her a Merry Christmas, but then we "naturally" digressed into a discussion about ExSSA in which she re-iterated her wish for a more vibrant and better organized/structured ExSSA Group in Nigeria. She went on to say she has often pondered where certain Sakerettes of Nigerian origin could be now and proceeded to mention a few names, including yours. I told her the "LOST & FOUND" tool on SakerPride's ExSSA-World page had "unearthed" quite a few "lost" Sisters  … given the fact that our world has become so much smaller since the advent of the INTERNET.

(STUDENT #333 – CLASS OF 1971)
BIOGRAPHY AS SUBMITTED TO SAKERPRIDE by FAMILY

Mosina Siribi Sanga was born on March 18th 1953 in Bamenda Cameroon. As the first of 9 children she attended one of the elite all girls high school ‘ Saker Baptist College’. Hungry for education she left Cameroon on a Student visa in 1974 to study at the St. Mary College now known as St. MARY University in Leavenworth, Kansas USA. She graduated with a BS in Chemistry and Biology. It was here that she made a conscious decision not only to form lasting relationships but also to learn about the various cultures and people that make up the United States. Due to her good looks, vibrant personality and ability to draw people, she had many suitors that chased her but only one succeeded. They met in Cameroon and their relationship blossomed and followed them to the states.

IN HONOR OF SAKERETTE STUDENT #0000
NAOMI OBEN EPEY NKONGHO
"Naomi was barely 10 years old, and such a joy to be around. I remember when her mom had her here in the U.S., back in 2004. We called her 'American Baby'; she was the 3rd of 4 kids and my {maternal} uncle's only daughter. Over the past several years, Naomi often complained of an upset stomach and had occasional constipation. The pediatrician had referred her to a specialist who diagnosed it as a malformation of the large intestine but assured her patents there was not much to worry about. They were advised to change her diet and incorporate more fluids and fiber. Surgery was proposed, but as a last resort. Since she was otherwise healthy and growing normally, they opted to get a 2nd opinion.
Last weekend, they traveled to Kumba and on the way back she started complaining of an stomach upset. When she threw up, they stopped at a nearby pharmacy to get some medication. Her parents got very concerned when they saw her abdomen continue to get increasingly distended. When they got back home to Douala the situation had gotten worse, she was in severe pain and her abdomen kept growing. They rushed her to the reference hospital in Douala but being a Sunday, there was no emergency care. They tried to place an NG tube but she died soon after.
The tragedy in this is that her patents watched her slip away as she cried to them for help, 4 years to the day after her aunt (and namesake), my beloved mother {Sis Magdalene Nkongho Enoh - Class of 1972} passed away."

Those of you who are avid SakerPride readers couldn't possibly have missed the fascinating story I posted a couple of weeks ago, about our precious, France-dwelling, British CARAT - Chloe, who bravely started her SAKER BAPTIST COLLEGE Journey a little over a month ago. ( http://www.sakerpride.com/SBC-CORNER.html )
Well, a day after I posted that story, I was deeply saddened to hear the EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL story of another child whose SAKER JOURNEY ENDED BEFORE IT COULD EVER BEGIN!!! Adorable, Brilliant, Little NAOMI EPEY NKONGHO - cousin of Bessem Enoh Oben (Class of '95/'97) and niece of Late Sis Magdalene Epey Nkongho Enoh (Class of 1972) who had been admitted into Saker and who was supposed to start school on September 2 2014, died suddenly, on Sunday August 24 2014, a mere 8 days before her own "SAKER EXPERIENCE" was supposed to start.
TRAGICALLY, she did not get to take her already purchased school supplies up the "Saker Hill", nor did she get the chance to spend a single night in any of SBC's Dormitories like she aspired and was SO EAGER to do but, IN MY EYES, she still is a SAKERETTE and that is why I have chosen to dedicate this modest space to her. I believe she really and truly deserves a place here, amongst our other SAKERETTE Sisters who've gone on before us, and if there are, perchance, any SAKER MEETINGS "Up Yonder", (as I strongly suspect there are), I am sure she'll fit right in! SLEEP TIGHT, BABY!
Now, here's the sad story of her demise, as narrated by her Cousin - Bessem Enoh Oben (President, ExSSA-HOUSTON)
This reference made by Bessem to her mother's passing brought back the sad memories from 2010 and prompted me to visit her memorial website where I stumbled upon the cute little entry below, which made my eyes just well up with tears all over again, - for very obvious reasons. It's author, (if my math is correct), was barely 6 at the time and couldn't possibly have had the slightest clue that she would, in just 4 short years, be reunited with her "Dear Aunty Meg"!
NAOMI OBEN EPEY NKONGHO                      TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR AUNTY MEG                  September 1, 2010

FROM NAOMI OBEN EPEY NKONGHO.
MAY BOTH THEIR SOULS JUST REST IN PERFECT PEACE!!!

ExSSA-DOUALA STARTS OFF 2015 REMEMBERING ONE OF ITS ERSTWHILE MEMBERS,
CLASS OF 1978's Mrs. BETTY ATABONG FONDERSON.
1961 - 1998
ExSSA-DOUALA's January Meeting was anything but "ordinary" since it was preceded by a Memorial Mass and Reception in honor of one of its erstwhile members, Mrs. Betty Atabong Fonderson who passed away in May of 1998. Five Tributes were delivered - by her best friend & S.B.C Classmate, Mrs. Roseline Nzegge Ngaaje, (visiting Cameroon from ExSSA-DALLAS), her senior sister Claire, her friends Ms Jacky Patcha & Mrs. Emma Foncha and her Cousin Mr. Dominic Asonganyi. Many other Sakerettes from around the country were also in attendance, as were other Non-Sakerettes like Ms Kate Kaye and Hon. Michael Tomdio, to mention just these two.
After the ceremony at the Holy Trinity Church hall, (which is where Sis Betty used to worship), the Chapter Members drove to the Convent for their monthly meeting which, incidentally, was hosted by Late Sis Betty's younger sister, Reverend Sister Jacky Atabong.
ExSSA-Douala plans on having similar "Remembrance Ceremonies" for 2 other Members that they have lost over the years; Late Ebob Agborsangaya Atabong and Lydia Tambe Samkoh.
May their dear souls rest in Peace!

REMEMBERING, ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY 2015, THE TRAGEDY THAT TOOK PLACE ON OCTOBER 7 1967, THAT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF
LATE MISS KATE KAEVI NYAJRO - CLASS OF 1968, STUDENT #124 (R.I.P.)
BODY OF DROWNED STUDENT FOUND, BURIED
The body of a Final Year Student of Saker Baptist College, Miss KATE NYANJRO who was reported drowned at the West Coast last Saturday, was found yesterday at the banks of the sea.
She was buried last evening behind the EMENS TEXTILES Head Office, New Town, Victoria. Late Kate was about 18 years old.
Rescue teams comprising Police, citizens, scouts and Cow Boys had continued searching for her body since last Saturday when she was reported drowned.
When contacted, The Principal of the college, Mr. Donald WITT, told the TIMES that the students left the college campus last Friday for an excursion with 2 tutors in their company, and were expected back on Sunday.
According to the Principal, swimming was one of the activities during the excursion. He added that the students, before the swimming began, were paired up, a better swimmer and one other, and that Late Kate was the better one in her pair.

DISAPPEARED
When also contacted, a tutor, Mr. Lindsay Roger {Mr. Roger HAND} who accompanied the students said the depth of the water was below her waist when she disappeared.

LAID TO REST
A large crowd watched the burial ceremony conducted by Reverend S.M. LYONGA of Victoria Presbyterian Church amidst moaning and sobbing.
Reverend Lyonga revealed that Late Kate, from her school records, was a very promising student. He then called on the congregation to pray for her repose, and for the parents to be able to stand the pangs of the tragedy.
The Principal, tutors and students from Kate’s college also attended the occasion.
Among those who took part in the service were, The Legal Adviser to the West Cameroon Government, Mr. E.K. MENSAH {Saker Dad}, The Leader of the West Cameroon House of Assembly, Dr. E.M.L. ENDELEY {Saker Dad}, Mr. N.A. NGWA, S.D.O. Victoria, Mr. E.A. MBIWAN, General Manager of the West Cameroon Electricity Corporation {Saker Dad}, Messrs. BEN & JACK AHLIJAH, Director and Manager of ALLIANCE TRADING ENTERPRISES Victoria respectively, and several other very important personalities.
The invitees were later entertained in Mr. NYANJRO’s premises
The Christian Youth Fellowship Victoria Group laid a wreath at the grave.

MISS EUNICE KERN’S RECOLLECTION OF THE SAD INCIDENT
“In regards to Kate Nyajro's accidental drowning. I was at the beach when it happened. Following the accident, Mr. E.K. MARTIN, the then Cameroon Baptist Convention Education Secretary was informed (of course the students returned home, very shaken). Mr. Witt was the principal and he was at the compound, because he and Mr. Martin scoured the beach for several days, hoping to find her body. Eventually they found what was left of her remains. Mr. Martin believed that the undercurrent took her body into what is believed to be a stream in the shallow waters that flow toward the beach, because that is where they found her remains. If my memory is correct, Mr. Martin kept going back to that area feeling that is where they would find her. (He obviously knew the area.)”
